Paris Chief of Police, Bob Hundley, is calling the shooting earlier today a homicide.
“Preliminary investigation indicates another person was seen in the parking lot talking with the victim shortly before people reported hearing gunshots,” said Hundley.
“A light-colored SUV was seen leaving the area,” added Hundley.
Hundley said the victim was transported to the Paris Regional Medical Center by Paris EMS where he later died.
The victim’s name is not being released until Paris Police have assurance that family members have been notified.

A man has been rushed to hospital after being shot around 4 p.m. this afternoon at an apartment complex at 125 13th Street S.E.
Paris police responded to the scene after reports of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers found one male had been shot.
No further details are available at this time. Paris Police are investigating.
