Wednesday, July 24 at 2:33pm; a district manager in the 3000 block of Clarksville Street stated that a now former employee had initiated at least five fraudulent transactions involving lottery tickets and had stolen $3619.00 by doing so. A felony Theft Property >=$2,500<$30K is under investigation.
Wednesday, July 24 at 4:09pm; a store associate in the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue stated to a responding Paris Officer that an identified male subject, who had been prior criminally trespassed from the store, had entered into the store with a previously stolen bicycle, went straight to the bicycle department, selected a $448 dollar, 29” Schwinn Mountain bicycle and left the store without paying, leaving the previously stolen bicycle behind. The subject’s criminal history shows two previous theft convictions. A Felony Theft Property <$2500 2 More Previous Convictions and a Criminal Trespass Warrants will be sought.
Wednesday, July 24 at 6:29pm; Paris Officers met an individual in the Police lobby regarding found rings. The individual’s wife had been cleaning out some drawers of the office in the 2800 Pine Mill Road and located two rings not belonging to them. It’s possible that an employee could have put the rings in the drawer for safe keeping for a patient and accidently forgot to return them. The rings will be in Police Evidence, until an owner comes forth and identifies them.
Wednesday, July 24 at 10:42pm; Paris Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of Lamar Avenue for traffic violations and while speaking with the driver, Officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The passenger, 24-Year-Old Jataurius Keshaun Council gave consent to search his person. A baggie containing a usable amount of cocaine was located in his short’s pocket. As the officer reached for his handcuffs, Council took off running. After a short foot chase, Officer caught Council and had to physically assist him to the ground. Further search of the vehicle, led Council to being arrested and booked with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance-cocaine, Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance-THC wax, Resisting Arrest/Search/Transport, and Evading Arrest/Detention. The driver and vehicle were release
from the scene.
