Wed. Nov. 27 at 2:35pm; a Paris Officer observed an illegally parking vehicle in the 1400 block Sperry Avenue, with the rear of the vehicle partially in the roadway. As the officer exited his patrol unit, he observed the driver to exit the illegally parked vehicle and identified himself as 58-year-old Berlyn Don Stuckey. For safety purposes, the officer made several requests to Stuckey, to remove his hands from his pants pockets; to which Stuckey refused to comply with. As Stuckey resisted being detained and handcuffed, he pulled a glass tube with a bowl on the end out of one pocket and pulled a can of tobacco out of the other pocket and toss it into the bed of the pickup away from the officer. Stuckey was detained without incident and booked on Felony Possession Controlled Substance-Meth, Felony Tampering/Fabricate with Physical Evidence and two additional misdemeanor drug charges.
Thurs. Nov. 28 at 3:15am; Paris Police assisted Paris Fire and Paris EMS in an Apartment Structure Fire in the 600 block of SW 7th Street. One male, sole occupant of the apartment was removed, treated at the scene and transported to Paris Regional Health, where he later died. Nothing further at this time.
Thurs. Nov. 28 at 7:34am; a victim in the 800 block of SE 17th Street awoke to her to discover that her 2017 Chevrolet Equinox had been stolen from her driveway. She stated that she only has one key for the vehicle, and she still has that key in her possession. At approximately 9:27am, while patrolling in the George Wright Homes apartment complex, the stolen vehicle was located, locked. The victim arrived, unlocked the vehicle and reported three lab coats and sunglasses missing. The lab coats were recovered from a dumpster on the parking lot. The vehicle was printed and released to the victim.
Fri. Nov. 29 at 9:55am; after observing in vehicle in the 300 block of Fitzhugh Avenue with an obscured/covered not visible third brake light (covered by black tape); a Paris Officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver and passenger of the vehicle. Passenger, 48-year-old Glenda Sue Potter was confirmed to have a Felony warrant out of Lamar County for Felony Motion to Revoke-Credit or Debit Card Abuse Elderly and was taken into custody and booked into the Paris Jail. The driver was release from the scene.
Fri. Nov. 29 at 10:39am; while patrolling in the 600 block of Tudor Street, a Paris Officer observed a vehicle to run a stop sign and initiated a traffic stop. The driver was asked for his license and proof of insurance. The driver stated he did not have any forms of identification and further identified himself as “Daniel McCarthy DOB 11/03/1991”. It was later determined that the male gave a false name and date of birth. 32-year-old Trivel Andrew Dunwood Jr was positively identified and taken into custody for a Felony warrant out of Lamar County for Manufacture Deliver Controlled Substance and on-view Fail To ID Fugitive Intent Give False Info.
Sun. Dec. 1 at 1:38pm; Paris Dispatch received notification that 21-year-old Audriaunna Deyonce Brown had outstanding warrants from other agencies. A Paris Officer responded to the 2500 block of North Main Street and made contact with
Brown. Brown was taken into custody for Dallas County Felony Insufficient Bond Robbery and Grayson County Failure to Appear-Assault Causes Bodily Injury and booked into the Paris Jail.
Wed. Nov. 27 through Sun. Dec. 1, 2024: The Paris Police Department responded to 285 Calls for Service, made 14 Adult Arrest, and Initiated 46 Traffic Stops
