Carolyn Ann (Powers) Miller, 81, of Paris, Texas, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away Monday, August 24, 2026, in Paris, Texas.
Carolyn, the daughter of Hershel Raymond Powers and Mary Lucile (Kidd) Powers, was born December 28, 1944, in Port Arthur, Texas.
On May 13, 1961, Carolyn married Paul Logan Miller, beginning a marriage that would span 52 years and a lifetime of family, love, and memories. Together, they raised their two sons; Paul Leslie ‘Les’ and Jeffrey Lane, building a family that would continue to grow through the generations.
Texas was more than simply the place Carolyn was born and lived; it was always a part of her and the home she carried with her throughout the years. They eventually settled in Paris, where her loving husband got her the home she dreamed of. This home is where she spent many years building a life and creating memories with her family, pets, and loved ones.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and other family and loved ones.
She is survived by her two sons, Les and Jeff Miller and his wife, Diana; Four grandchildren, Amanda (Miller) Ohl and her husband, Chad Ohl; Paul Miller; Toni Monique Miller; and Moriah (Miller) Smith and her husband, Christopher Smith; Three great-grandchildren, Carter, Emma, and Isla. She is also survived by her sister, Linda (Powers) Belcher, along with extended family and many friends who were part of her chosen family.
Those who loved Carolyn will continue to find reminders of her in the things she loved most: in her art, in the beautiful floral arrangements she created, in the companionship of her beloved dogs, and in the joy she found in Christmas and making the season special. These little pieces of her will remain woven into the lives and memories of those who knew and loved her.
Carolyn’s greatest legacy is the family she and Paul built together. Her life was woven into the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, leaving memories that will continue to be cherished for years to come.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, September 19, at 2:00 p.m. at Bright-Holland Funeral Home in Paris. A reception will take place afterwards and be held at Carolyn’s home where friends and family are invited to come and go as they are able, sharing memories, stories, and time together in remembrance of Carolyn.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
