Marjorie Phyllis Perry, 84, died Thursday, January 9, 2025, in Arlington, Texas, after a short illness.
Marjorie was born on August 9, 1940, in Providence, Rhode Island, and was raised in Rhode Island and spent the majority of her life in New England before moving to Paris, Texas, in 2005. Marjorie has been retired for the past five (5) years.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Alan Perry, of Paris, Texas, Andrea Perry, of Paris, Texas; and her grandchildren, Harrison Perry and Sydney Prry of Dallas, Texas, and Andrew Perry, of Paris, Texas, and her sisters, Susan Curria of Coventry, Rhode Island and Sandra Carol of Warwick, Rhode Island and her sister-in-law, Virginia Kenneway of Phoenix, Arizona, and a host of relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, George Andrew Perry, Sr. her son, George Andrew Perry, Jr., her parents, Louis and Dora Lupo, her brothers, Frank Lupo, Louis Lupo and Richard Lupo, and her father/mother-in-law, Warren and Antoinette Perry.
Marjorie was the owner operator of Mar-Dee’s Jewelry for over 45 years in Providence and also co-owned various businesses, including Ocean State Seafood and Magnum Sign Company in Rhode Island. Marjorie was considered the original “hockey mom” traveling throughout New England and Canada to watch her sons play ice hockey and other sports. Marjorie came from a big, loving Italian family, was an avid swimmer and gardener who loved growing roses.
Marjorie was an active member of the Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Paris, Texas, for the past 20 years. She sang in the church choir, was a member of the Lady’s Guild and of the Disciples of Jesus and Mary (DJM), volunteered at the church Food Pantry and St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Funeral services are scheduled for January 15, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Paris, Texas, is open to the public. Funeral arrangements have been provided by Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home in Paris, Texas.
