False Identification, Warrants, and Controlled Substance Arrest
On Friday morning, August 21, 2026, at approximately 9:57 a.m., officers with the Paris Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1900 block of Lamar Avenue. During the investigation, officers contacted the driver, who initially provided a false name. Through further investigation, officers determined the driver’s true identity and discovered he had an active parole warrant, as well as an outstanding warrant through the City of Paris Municipal Court.
The driver was arrested and additionally charged with Failure to Identify – Fugitive from Justice, a misdemeanor, for providing false identifying information. During the arrest and subsequent search, officers also located a vape pen containing THC in the driver’s possession. He was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 2, less than one gram, a felony offense.
The subject was transported to Paris City Jail and booked without incident.
Shots Fired call leads to Multiple Arrests
On Friday morning, August 21, 2026, at approximately 10:02 a.m., officers with the Paris Police Department were dispatched to a report of shots fired in the 1200 block of West Houston. During the investigation, officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of NW 12th Street, where they contacted two male subjects.
One of the males was found on the back porch in possession of a glass pipe commonly used to smoke narcotics and was placed under arrest. During a subsequent search, officers located a baggie containing suspected methamphetamine. The subject was subsequently charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, 1–4 grams, a felony offense.
During the investigation, the second male admitted to discharging a firearm in the direction of his neighbor’s residence. He was placed under arrest and charged with Deadly Conduct, a felony offense.
Both subjects were transported to Paris City Jail and booked without incident.
Aggravated Assault – Family Violence Arrest
Early Saturday morning, August 22, 2026, at approximately 3:40 a.m., officers with the Paris Police Department were dispatched to a disturbance in the 700 block of Hearon Street. Officers contacted a female who reported she had been injured after being assaulted with a weapon by a male subject with whom she has an on-again, off-again relationship.
Officers located the male subject and placed him under arrest. He was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Family Violence, a felony offense.
The subject was transported to jail and booked without incident.
Methamphetamine Arrest
On Monday morning, August 24, 2026, at approximately 4:42 a.m., officers with the Paris Police Department were dispatched for a security check in the 3100 block of the NE Loop 286. Upon arrival, officers located a male subject asleep inside his truck in a parking lot.
Officers woke the subject, who consented to a search of the vehicle. During the search, officers located a clear baggie containing suspected methamphetamine.
The subject was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, less than one gram, a felony offense. He was transported to jail and booked without incident.
All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Officers made 99 traffic stops, made 17 adult arrests, and answered 204 calls for service during this reporting period.
