The 12th Annual Hatch Chile Fest: The fresh roasted Hatch chiles returns to the Paris Farmers and Artisan Market on September 5th, from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Hatch Chile Fest features the freshest hatch chiles straight from New Mexico, roasted on an open flame and sold to the public. The 40 plus vendors from veggies, baked goods, meat, coffee, artisan items and mobile food trucks.
Farmers Market vendor Ron Preusse travels to New Mexico every year to bring back the chiles harvested just days before the event. Preusse says this year’s plan is to get 2500 lbs. Hatch chiles have been added to such things as chocolate chip cookies, adding an unexpectedly delicious flavor.
The Denton based band, Mariachi Quetzal, is back again for the 12th year. Playing between the hours of 10am and 12p.m., their energetic and vibrant performances bring the fiesta to the Market with an incredible mix of English and Spanish songs.
Samples of fresh roasted chiles are served on a burger slider and will be available while supplies last beginning at 10a.m. The Annual Hatch T-shirt is a must and can be purchased and supplies are limited.
The success of this event is not possible without volunteers. Help is needed with roasting, bagging chiles, serving burger sliders and selling T-shirts. All volunteers receive a bag of fresh roasted Hatch Chiles as a thank you.
