The Lamar County Spelling Bee, held on February 5, showcased the linguistic talents of the county’s top twelve spellers. This annual competition brought together students from various schools, all vying for the prestigious title and a chance to advance to regional competitions.
Paris Independent School District (ISD) students made a significant impact at the event, clinching the top three positions. This remarkable achievement highlights the dedication and preparation of both the students and their educators.
Seth Loza, a fifth-grader from Crockett Intermediate School, emerged as the champion of the competition. His outstanding performance and poise under pressure earned him the top spot and the honor of advancing to the next level.
Securing the second place was Onas Bridges, a sixth-grader also from Crockett Intermediate School. Onas demonstrated exceptional spelling skills and composure throughout the contest, earning him a well-deserved runner-up position.
Amelia Elliott, a seventh-grader from Paris Junior High, claimed the third place. Her impressive spelling abilities and determination were evident, as she competed fiercely among her peers.
As the champion of the Lamar County Spelling Bee, Seth Loza will advance to Regional Spelling Bee. This competition is scheduled to take place March 8, 2025 in Dallas and will feature top spellers from across the region.
