The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office has reported a new scam going around Lamar County.
The office said a male subject will call, say he is Lt. Mark Richardson with the sheriff’s office. The caller will then proceed to request a call to 903-708-5405 about, “an important matter.”
“The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office does not have an officer with eh above name,” the sheriff’s office posted. “Do not give any personal information to the caller and hang up.”
