In their fifth district game, the Prairiland Lady Patriots emerged victorious once again with a win over Grand Saline in straight sets. The Lady Patriots (14-2, 5-0) remained perfect in district play and atop the standings with the win by a final score of 25-10, 25-16, and 25-12.
Prairiland did not suffer any hangover following the critical five-set win at Emory Rains as the team played sharp in all facets of the game ahead of another district tilt Friday. What could have been seen by some as a “trap game” was a business trip for the Lady Patriots as they experienced minimal struggles throughout the match against Grand Saline.
Sophomore setter Chloe Raley put forth a strong effort to lead the Lady Pats with 34 assists, 6 digs, and 6 aces from behind the service line. Senior middle blocker Reese Parris was a force on the front line with a game-high 16 kills to go with 2 blocks, while fellow senior middle T.J. Folse added 11 kills and 1 block. Outside hitters Kyndal Yaross and Ali Sessums contributed to the win with 5 kills and 10 digs, and 2 kills and 13 digs, respectively. Lanna Rinney also chipped in with 8 digs from the libero spot.
Prairiland will take the court again at 4:30 p.m. Friday at rival Chisum.
