COMMERCE – East Texas A&M University football linebacker Brandon Tucker has earned All-America honors from two different publications, including being the first player in the program’s Division I era to earn first team All-America honors.
Tucker (DeSoto) was named to first team All-America by the Associated Press (AP) and to second team All-America on the Stats Perform FCS All-America team. He joins former teammates Levi Drake Rodriguez and Max Epps as the only players in the Division I era to earn All-America honors.
Having been named the Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Year and first team all-Southland earlier this season, Tucker was also a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award, which is awarded to the top defensive player in FCS.
Tucker had 141 tackles, 15.0 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, six quarterback hurries, and two pass breakups in 2024, breaking the program’s single season record for most tackles in a season.
