She married Lloyd Eugene Allen, her Army Hero, while in Germany on September 26, 1961. Irmgard never imagined she would come to the United States; however, in 1961 she traveled many miles to arrive in the US, and considered Paris her home for almost sixty years. She became a US citizen on May 26, 1978. She has accomplished the ideal goal in her life; to live a life of unconditional love and pure joy for all others to see; offering life, love, and happiness to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and everyone who crossed her path. She will forever be remembered as a wonderful woman who adored her family, lived in a state of thankfulness, and who gained her strength through her bold prayers.

Irmgard was so giving of herself. She served many years as a volunteer with St. Joseph Hospital where she enjoyed many moments of prayer at the Chapel and with the Sisters. She was also a member of Prime Time. She loved to read, to sing, to garden, to play, to create magnificent music on her harmonica, walk, ride her scooter, and most of all she loved to love all others. She was passionate for all the beauty of God’s created nature. “I love my garden, My Little Piece of Heaven.” “His beautiful earth has always given me such Joy. I truly enjoy the simple things in my life…flowers, grass, birds, butterflies, poetry, hymns, and just Love.”

A Flower Fund Memorial has been set up to honor residents at Stillhouse who have no family to send flowers at time of passing. Please send donations to Irmgard’s Garden at https://www.gofundme.com/profile/irmgardsgarden-nuqek.
