As a road warrior and an international traveler, Jerry Robertson died on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the age of 94 years young from natural causes. Jerry and Beverly resided in Euless, Texas, for many years. Previously, they lived in Paris, Texas.
Jerry was born on June 26, 1932, in Comanche County, Texas. His parents were Nellie Lee Taylor Robertson and Edwin Wilburn “Bill” Robertson. Since Jerry’s mother died when he was six months old of diphtheria, Jerry and his sister, Virginia, were raised by their maternal grandmother, Annie Lee Bryant Taylor. His wife, Beverly Ann James Robertson, survives.
Jerry graduated from Hermleigh High School and played in their football program. After high school graduation, Jerry attended Texas Tech University before being drafted into the Army. He served his duty in Korea where he was trained to be an electrician. He returned home and began a career in the rural electric cooperative industry, working for Midwest Electric Cooperative in Roby, Texas, as a member service agent. Later, he was General Manager for the Lamar Electric Cooperative in Paris, Texas, for many years.
Beverly and Jerry were die-hard recreational vehicle travelers, visiting all 50 states. They also traveled to Great Britain; Paris, France; eastern European countries; Mexico; and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Beverly and Jerry met in Dallas in the 1970’s. Beverly and Jerry married at Westridge Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas, on January 24, 1976. They celebrated their fiftieth anniversary on their special day and had a family and friends anniversary party on February 7, 2026.
Jerry’s immediate survivors are his two sons in Paris, Texas, from his first marriage to Johnye Fargason Robertson: Gary S. Robertson and wife, Cindy, and Rob Robertson with Amy Burrows. Other survivors are: Grandchildren, (1) Jennifer Gunn, Keller, TX; (2) Robert Robertson, Los Angeles, CA; (3) Liz Robertson, Rossville, GA; (4) Laura Young, Taipei Taiwan; (5) Cate Robertson, Barnegat, NJ; (6) Sean Robertson, Paris, TX; and (7) Steven Robertson, Paris, TX; Great Grandchildren, (1) Alexandra Gunn, Keller, TX; (2) Colton Roth, Rossville, GA;and (3) Olivia Thornton, Paris, TX.
Graveside service and burial will be on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, 560 Evergreen Street, Paris, Texas, 75460 (intersection of Evergreen and 6th Streets), near South Church Street and Jefferson Road.
