Effective Monday, January 16, 2023, Carter BloodCare has closed its donor center in Paris due to lack of donor interest or growth to sustain permanent collection operations.
“Though we won’t have a brick-and-mortar location, we will continue actively serving the Paris area through mobile blood drives and we will continue supplying local hospital blood needs,” said Senior Public Relations Specialist James Black.
The donor center, located at 3305 NE Loop 286, originally opened due to the need for blood, platelets and plasma and the support of a growing donor base. However, Black said they have not seen the increased donor interest or growth at the center that can sustain permanent collection operations.
“Carter BloodCare hosts 25-30 mobile blood drives every day, seven days a week, and has 25 donor centers throughout North, Central and East Texas.”
