A Bonham man lost his life Monday evening after a vehicle accident on Highway 78, near FM 1396 in Fannin County.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety, 60-year-old Nicolas Games Santana, of Bonham, was driving a 2021 Kubota Tractor, towing a homemade trailer, southbound on State Highway 78 without displaying any emblems, reflective material, or lighting as required.
At about 6:15 p.m., when Santana slowed to make a left turn, 65-year-old William Bailey Isham, of Greenville, did not see the vehicle nor its trailer and struck the tractor from behind. Isham, who was left uninjured, was driving a 1998 Peterbilt towing a semi-trailer.
The Kubota rolled and the driver was ejected. According to TX DPS, Santana was pronounced deceased at the scene.
