A suspect remains at large after a man’s life was claimed in a Friday afternoon shooting in Paris.
At about 2 p.m. on Friday, Paris police responded to the 1300 block of West Cherry Street. Once on scene, police observed a 31-year-old white male lying in the street with a severe wound to his face.
Witnesses told officers the person had been in a physical altercation with a known black male. According to witnesses, the black male retrieved a rifle from his vehicle and shot the victim.
Before officers arrived, the suspect had fled the scene. The victim, who’s name has yet been released, was transported to Paris Regional Health’s Emergency Room, where he was later pronounced dead.
According to police, the suspect involved in the Paris shooting is still at large and the investigation continues.
