Mary Brenda Fair Webb, 73, passed away on May 5, 2025, at the family home in Deport with her beloved husband, Mac Webb, at her side.
She was born on January 1, 1952, in Paris, Texas. She was the first baby born in Lamar County in the new year, but she was not eligible for a first-baby-of-the-year gift since she was from Delta County! She was born to parents, Archie D. Fair and Martha Lois Young Fair of Lake Creek, Texas. Grandparents were Ora and John W. Young and Cordy and Claude Fair.
Brenda graduated from Delmar High School, as Valedictorian, in 1970 and attended Paris Junior College and East Texas State University. She Joined the Lake Creek Methodist Church in 1961.
Brenda is survived by husband Mac Webb, their sons Drew B. Chance and Megan Edwards of Dallas and Andrew M. Webb of Irving. Grandchildren are Marley Paige Chance and Beckham Reid Chance of Celina, also survived by brother Johnny D. Fair and wife Lilian of Spokane, Washington and niece, Mistie Fair Ranjbar of Missoula, Montana and daughter, Tory and Cressida, along with her son Alex Fair, his children Galena and Ivan, and brother David K. Fair of Petty, Texas; sister-in-law Karen Webb Walker and husband Dr. Tim Walker of Northlake, Texas, their sons, Nathan of Sachse and David of Linden.
Brenda and Mac were married thirty-six years and were very proud of making a good team. She was most proud of raising two sons in a blended family. Brenda was known as a hard worker, a caring and reliable person. She held a strong belief in God and the Christian faith. She was known as a prayer warrior in the area and a pillar of First United Methodist Church, Deport. She served in every capacity in Deport except soloist, even preaching once. Brenda also enjoyed some years as a member of Calvary and First United Methodist Churches of Paris, where she fully participated. She was a member of the NET Emmaus Community, and belonged to Sulphur Bluff EOS #246.
Brenda loved The Hill Country, Willie Nelson concerts, Jerry Jeff Walker’s Birthday Bash at Gruene Hall, Gruene, Texas. She was also a big Eric Clapton fan. The family enjoyed numerous trips to the Schlitterbahn in the summer with her grandchildren.
Brenda was employed by Belk Department Store for 45 years. She started on July 24, 1971 and retired on May 1, 2016. During her career she held the following positions: Salesclerk, Juniors and Children’s Division Buyer/Manager, Ladies Division Buyer/Manager, Operations Manager of the Shipping and Receiving Department. Brenda was a vital part of Belk for many years, 48 to be exact. She worked an additional 3 years after retirement. She was a pillar of strength who helped to build the Belk store. Brenda received the Pacesetter Award several years.
She served in Project Deport, the Deport Food Pantry, and the Highland Cemetery Association.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home, Paris, Texas. A visitation on May 14 will be held at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Deport, 177 South Pecan Street, prior to the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. The Committal Service will be at Highland Cemetery, Deport, at the pavilion following the memorial service.
