Danny Charles Perry, 72 of Paris, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025 at his home.
Funeral services have been set for Friday, May 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. L.A. Caldwell and Rev. Scotty Parnell officiating. A private burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Danny was born in Fannin County, Texas to Floyd Ray Perry, Sr, and Della Mae Jones Perry. He married Kathy Horton on May 9, 1981. Danny loved spending time with his wife. He enjoyed working, helping to make peanut brittle and other candies for fund-raisers. In his past time he liked going to garage sales, flea markets and loved to go to church. Danny was a talented musician. He served his Lord by playing the drums, guitar and mandolin in church and nursing homes for many years. He was an ordained Baptist Deacon. He loved reading the Bible, teaching the adult Sunday School Class. In his spare time he liked to fish and go camping. Danny volunteered at Virgil Point and Pat Mayse Lake. He was employed at Huhtamaki for almost 22 years until his health wouldn’t allow him to work.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, David Charles, Dennis and wife Chrystal, Dewayne and wife Rosa, Cynthia Childers, Tonya Horton Wallace; grandchildren, Auston, Emily Perry, Hayley, Garrett, Nathan, Jaden, Katelynn, Emily, Ashley Copeland, Michaela Copeland, Miranda Wallace, Daniel, I’niyah Pruitt, Rhiley Pruitt, Michael Ray Gaines III, Kyler Copeland, Kamden Copeland, Brooklyn Mathes, Dawson and Jayden Childres, Merari Perry, Dylan Perry, Joshua Perry, Jahazie Perry, Kayla, Kellie; many other grandchildren; siblings, Tresa and Shannon Trammel, Donny Perry, Ronny Perry and Tameria, Charlie Perry, JoAnn Peeples, Linda Legate, Jerry Don Perry and wife Charleen; sisters-in-law, Jerrie Ballard Perry, Sharon Perry; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; many cousins; special aunt, Mildred Gilbert; father-in-law, Loyd Horton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Ray Perry, Sr. and Della Mae Perry; siblings, David Ray Perry, Floyd Perry, Jr. Billy Perry, Shirley Ann Perry, Sheila Jane Perry, Harry Perry; mother-in-law, Johnnie Faye Finley Horton.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Gilbert, James Horton, Ric Kent, William Perry, Kenny Gilbert, and Billy Ray Perry.
Danny will be greatly missed, but we will see him again in Heaven. We know that he will be playing in Heaven’s band with Bro. Travis and Edna Edwards, Ric Green, Earl Parnell, Dennis Bernhard and Cathy Currin.
