A Texas Highway Patrol Trooper sustained non-life threatening injuries Monday morning after preliminary reports indicate an SUV rear-ended the marked patrol vehicle.
At approximately 8:09 a.m. on Jan. 24, Texas Highway Patrol Troopers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of US-82 and County Road 23940, in Lamar County, Texas.
“Preliminary investigation indicates a marked Texas Highway Patrol vehicle was stopped in the westbound lane, waiting to make a left-hand turn into County Road 23940, when a 2018 Toyota 4Runner rear-ended the marked patrol vehicle,” said DPS Sgt. De La Cerda.
The State Trooper and the driver of the Toyota 4Runner were transported to the Paris Regional Medical Center where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
This is an on-going investigation and no further information is currently available.
