Just before midday on Dec 3, a home in Lamar Point burst into flames which resulted in multiple volunteer fire departments responding to CR 3472.1

A friend of Lisa Walton, who’s home was burning, said when the Walton was made aware of the fire, she quickly attempted to get back to her house to save her three dogs.

Unfortunately, all of her dogs and belongings perished in the blaze. Now a GoFundMe page has been set up by her aunt Lori Melton, in hopes of raising some much-needed funds for Walton and her partner Dale to begin rebuilding their lives.

“She also lost her three dogs. She and her boyfriend, Dale, lost everything. They had no insurance. She has had a bad run of things lately. Her car broke down last week. She just returned to work after having to be off for health issues. Needless to say, she is having a hard time,” reads the page Lori set up for her niece.

Red Cross was called at the time of the incident as Melton needing immediate assistance with getting essentials.

Her friend said on the scene that Walton and partner Dale would be staying with friends and family until a permanent situation was available. The structure became fully engulfed by the time Lamar Point made it on scene. Hopewell, Brookston, Powderly, Tigertown, and Reno all responded to the call due to the close proximity of a cedar wood tree line.

“If you know Lisa, she would do anything for anyone. She is a giving person and has an amazing personality. She has given a home to so many in need over the years. It is time for someone to help her. I have never seen her like I did today. She is devastated. Her furbabies mean the world to her. Any help would be greatly appreciated,” Lori added.

The family is hoping to raise $5,000, to help Lisa and Dale through this tragic time.
