The Texas Education Agency has released its 2026 accountability ratings, with Chisum Middle School earning the highest overall campus score in Lamar County — a 91 and an A rating.
At the district level, Chisum ISD led Lamar County with an overall score of 83 (B), followed closely by Prairiland ISD with 82 (B) and Paris ISD with 80 (B). North Lamar ISD received an overall score of 77 (C).
Among area secondary campuses, Prairiland Junior High and Paris High School each scored 89 (B), while several Lamar County campuses also earned state distinction designations for achievement, academic growth and closing performance gaps.
The 2026 results also identified several campuses for additional support, including Crockett Intermediate and Frank Stone Middle School for Comprehensive Support and Improvement. Aaron Parker Elementary was listed as a Comprehensive Support and Improvement Progress campus, while Aikin Elementary and Justiss Elementary were identified for Targeted Support and Improvement.
The ratings are based on several measures, including student achievement, school progress and closing achievement gaps.
