Campuses across Paris Independent School District received a generous delivery of much-needed supplies this week thanks to the continued support of Denver Pyle Children’s Charities, which partnered with Paris ISD to help stock Care Closets serving students across the district.
Each campus was provided up to $1,000 to select essential items through Amazon based on the specific needs of their students. The purchased supplies—including personal care items, toiletries, and clothing—were delivered to Paris ISD and will be distributed to Care Closets on each campus.
According to Denver Pyle Children’s Charities, the Care Closet initiative began on a smaller scale last year but quickly grew after the organization’s board recognized the impact it could have on students across Lamar County.
Courtney Wiles, a board member with Denver Pyle Children’s Charities, emphasized the organization’s commitment to supporting students and schools. “We are honored to have the ability to provide these items for each Care Closet,” Courtney said. “We know these items are beneficial for each child and student they serve on a daily basis. The items range from personal care items, toiletries, and clothing for students.”
“This project started small last year, and our board saw the need and without hesitation decided to make it bigger and better for the children of Lamar County,” Courtney shared. “We are excited to continue this tradition in upcoming years. This wouldn’t be possible without our board members, sponsors, and anglers. We also appreciate the schools’ willingness to put together the lists and work with us.”
Paris ISD is grateful for the partnership with Denver Pyle Children’s Charities and their ongoing dedication to meeting students’ basic needs, helping ensure every child has the support they need to be successful at school.
