On Sept. 8, Officers made contact with individuals in a vehicle that had been involved in a hit and run accident on August 28, 2025. The vehicle was spotted on US 82 East and followed into the city where the driver was observed to commit several traffic violations. The vehicle was stopped in the 3800 block of NE Loop 286. Officers made contact with individuals in the vehicle and identified the driver as Gary Wayne Reed (41), a back seat passenger who identified himself as Glen Jackson. During the contact officers located marijuana and methamphetamine in the vehicle and in clothing that the officers had observed Gary Reed to have been wearing. After investigation, it was discovered that “Jackson” was giving a false name and was actually Doyle Dickerson (59). Dickerson was found to have warrants from Red River County. Both were arrested. Reed was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana. Dickerson was charged with Fail to ID as a Fugitive from Justice, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and the Red River County warrants for Burglary of Habitation and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Both were booked without incident. The vehicle was released to another passenger in the vehicle.
On Sept. 8, Officers responded to a Motor Vehicle Theft in the 1000 block of NE 14th. The victim advised that sometime over the weekend someone had taken a 2006 Honda Ridgeline from the 1400 block of Van Zandt St. The owner advised that the vehicle was damaged in an accident some time ago but might start with a new battery. The vehicle was entered as stolen and the case is open.
On Sept. 8, Officers investigated a Criminal Mischief incident in the 500 block of NE 10th. The victim advised that her ex-boyfriend had poured syrup into her fuel tank of her vehicle to damage the engine. Officers spoke with the suspect who denied the allegations. Evidence was collected and the vehicle was towed from the scene. The incident is under investigation.
Officers made 28 traffic stops, 4 adult arrest, and answered 115 calls for service during this reporting period.
