Janice Irene Marrs, age 77, of Blossom, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Paris Regional Medical Center surrounded by loved ones. Roden-Pryor Funeral Directors will conduct funeral services 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Blossom United Methodist Church (315 Faucett St. Blossom, TX 75416) with Pastor Mike Wood officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services.
Jan was born September 28, 1941 to Howard Delbert Hoskins II and Ruth Emma de Bok in Russell, Iowa. By trade, she worked as an X-Ray technician and a real estate agent/broker. She belonged to many organizations, including Red Hat Society, Republican Women, and Paris Community Theater. She loved to sew, crochet, and quilt. She was very active in the community as a Cub Scout Leader and with the Eagles Lodge. She loved to travel and play bridge. She was of the Christian faith.
She is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-seven years, Stephen Marrs; sons, Jeff Marrs, and wife, Dianne, of Paris; J.D. Marrs, and wife, Tracey, of Blossom; grandchildren, J.J. Marrs, of Austin; Alley Marrs, of Paris; Jayden Drake, of Blossom; Devyn Marrs, of Blossom; a brother, Steve Boothe, of Des Moines, Iowa; sisters, Judy McGee, and husband, Jerry, of Des Moines, Iowa; Shelia Greene, and husband, Terry, of Chariton, Iowa; and Rhonda Robinson, and husband, Robbie, of Des Moines, Iowa.
She is preceded by her parents, and step-father, Kenneth Boothe.
Serving as pallbearers are Jeff Marrs, J.D. Marrs, Alley Marrs, Nathan Maly, J.J. Marrs, and Jayden Drake. Honorary pallbearers will be Devyn Marrs and Dr. Scott Marrs.
