Charles Edward Lester, of Bogata, Texas, passed away on October 3, 2026. He was born on February 4, 1960, in Dallas, Texas.
Charles will be remembered with love by his family and friends. He is survived by his sons, Rodney Waller and Scotty Lester, and by Rodney’s husband, Darin. He is also survived by his mother, Evon Smith; his sisters, Susan Rowe and Selena Cranford; and his brother, Doug Lester, and Doug’s wife, Janice. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Alexis Waller and Zachary Waller.
Charles loved to fish the Red River and be outdoors. He loved his sister-in-law, Janice, cooking almost as much as he loved his brother, Doug. He was a steady presence in the life of his family and will be missed by many.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Missionary Baptist Church of Bogata at a later date.
