Around 11 a.m. Thursday morning, Paris police officers received a call relating to a suspicious person using multiple debit cards at an ATM in the 2900 block of S Church St. “Officers made contact with 29-year-old, Shannon Thompson, who was found to be in possession of identifying information for four different people,” said Paris Police LT John Berry. Thompson was placed under arrest for fraudulent use/possession of identifying information and misdemeanor charge.
Earlier, a complaint was made at the Paris Police Department regarding credit/debit card abuse which was said to have occurred at other locations. “Officers were told that a known suspect had used the complainant’s debit card at different locations in Paris,” said Berry. The investigation is ongoing.
