William Kenny “Ken” Haynes, 82, of Paris, passed away Monday, Sept. 21, 2026.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services, with military honors, for 2:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25th at the Evergreen Chapel of Evergreen Cemetery with Dewey Bellows officiating.
Ken, the son of Lota Haynes & Evelyn Robinson Haynes, was born Sept. 9, 1944, in Paris, TX. He graduated from Paris High School and from East Texas State University in 1967, with a Bachelor of Science Degree. In 1967, during the Vietnam War, Ken joined the United States Air Force, serving as a Staff Sergeant in Vietnam. Ken received two Air Force Commendations and was honorably discharged on May 18, 1973. It was at this time that Ken began working for the State of Texas with the Department of Human Services. His career spanned more than 25 years before his retirement on Sept. 30, 1997.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Judy Newman & husband William “Bud” and Polly Wallak & husband John.
Survivors include two nieces, Kristin Clark & husband Greg and Kellie Newman, two nephews, Mike Wallak & wife Michelle and Stephen Wallak & wife Stacy along with several great nieces & nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Baby Gunn’s Animal Rescue, 601 CR 43340, Paris, TX 75462.
