The Proctor & Gamble Company has issued a voluntary recall of dry conditioner and shampoo spray products from Pantene, Aussie, Herbal Essences, and Waterless due to the presence of a potentially cancer-causing chemical.
According to the recall, previously discontinued aerosol dry shampoo products from Old Spice and Hair Food were also included in the recall due to the presence of benzene detected in some products.
The company warned that exposure to benzene through inhalation, orally and through the skin could result in leukemia and blood cancer in the bone marrow.
The company said there haven’t been any reports of issues related to the recalled products, and it’s making the move “out of an abundance of caution.”
The recalled products were distributed nationwide through retail outlets and online.
