The Paris Wildcat football team, fans, and personnel will wear white at the game this week to honor former Wildcat, Chandler Sikes who tragically died in a wreck in Abilene on Tuesday.
“Our Paris Wildcat Football Team has requested that everyone wear white to this week’s game to honor Chandler Sikes,” said the school online.
According to the Abilene Police Department, 18-year old Sikes of Powderly was a passenger in a Honda Civic traveling west on the inside lane of Southwest Drive. The car ran into the back of another vehicle that was also heading west, causing both vehicles to swerve into oncoming traffic. A pick-up heading east hit the Civic head-on before being rear-ended by a Ford F-150, also traveling east.
Sikes was a student at McMurry University.
Paris will go head-to-head with Melissa at Wildcat Stadium this Friday, Sept. 24 at 7;30 p.m.
