Paris Police Reports September 17, 2023

On Sunday, September 17 at 2:38am; a Paris Patrol Officer recognized a male; known to have
an outstanding Felony Parole Violation Warrant; standing in front of a Convenience Store in
the 2600 block of Lamar Avenue. Homeless 49-Year-Old Roger Joe Leija’s identity was
confirmed. Leija was detained and observed not wearing his Texas Parole GPS ankle
monitor. He alleged that the monitor fell off days ago and he had thrown it into a trash can.
Leija was booked for the Parole Warrant and 3rd Degree Felony-Tamper with Electronic
Monitoring Device/Intense Supervision.

On Sunday, September 17 at 10:09am; after taking a report of a Burglary of a Motor Vehicle
in the 500 block of NE 32nd Street, where a purse, wallet and contents were stolen; Officers
began a second report into a Felony Credit Card or Debit Card Abuse when the victim called
and advised that he was getting notifications on his phone that some of the stolen credit
cards were being used at several local businesses. Surveillance footage from one transaction
in the 1900 block of Lamar Avenue was obtained to assist with identifying the suspects.
On Sunday, September 17 at 3:38pm; a 34-year-old victim in the 300 block of Woodlawn
Avenue stated that her boyfriend had chocked her during an altercation. She stated that she
was having a seizure at the time she was being choked and stated that due to her current
medical state, she has seizures when she gets overheated. EMS arrived on scene to treat the
victim. An Assault Family Member-Impede Breath report was taken.
On Sunday, September 17 at 2:31pm; Paris Officers responded to an assault call in the 3300
block of Darnell Road. The caller had told Dispatch that he had been assaulted and “choked”
by his wife and she was not allowing him to leave the house. An argument had occurred over
the use-possession of a laptop. Significant linear abrasion on the right side of the victim’s
neck were observed. 33-Year-Old Brenda Salinas Campos was arrested and booked for Assault
Family/Household Member-Impede Breath.
On Sunday, September 17 at 10:02pm; Paris Officers were patrolling in the area of the 2600
block Lamar Avenue and observed a known female, 18-Year-Old Constance Mae Williams.
Williams was checked and confirmed through Dispatch for an active Class C warrant. Contact
was made and Williams was detained. Williams was transported to LCSO Jail for a female
search. From the search, Williams was charged with Possession of a Controlled SubstanceMethamphetamine, located in her pocket in a clear glass pipe.
