Friday, Dec. 13 at 3:36pm; as a Paris Officer was patrolling in the 1400 block of West Sherman Street, he noticed 37-year-old Jimmy Ray Lane II and knew Lane to have an outstanding Felony-Burglary of Building warrant. The officer had taken the initial Burglary of a Building report from the 1900 block of Bonham Street in October, where Lane had broken into a business. Contact was made with Lane. Lane was detained, arrested for the warrant without incident and was booked into
the Paris Jail.
Friday, Dec. 13 at 5:23pm; Paris Officers were dispatched to a warrant arrest in the 1300 block of NE 8th Street. The wanted subject was to be considered as an “armed and dangerous” individual. Contact was made with 65-year-old Donald Wayne Stone. Stone was advised of the warrant and that he was under arrest. As one officer reached for Stone’s arm, Stone begin resisting. Several attempts to cuff Stone were unsuccessful. Shortly after one officer advised Stone that he would be tased, if he continued resisting, other officers were able to handcuff Stone. Stone was arrested and booked into the Paris Jail for Felony-Parole Violation-Weapon Offense and on-view Resist Arrest Search or Transport.
Saturday, Dec. 14 at 9:39am; a victim in the 2400 block of Ballard Drive reported a Burglary at her residence. No force entry was located. A $300 dollar, black in color Taurus G3L 9mm handgun with a loaded magazine and black holster were missing from a nightstand. The victim stated that her residence is armed with aggressive dogs, inside and outside and she believes the suspect had to be someone familiar with her residence and acquainted with her dogs. The officer photographed the
area and dusted for latent fingerprints. The handgun was entered into NCIC/TCIC as stolen.
Saturday, Dec. 14 at 12:50pm; a shoplifting was reported in the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue. The arriving officer asked the subject what had happened. 65-year-old Deborah Griffin Williams of Novice stated she had paid for her food with her food stamp card and had placed the remainder of her unpaid miscellaneous items in the shopping cart and had attempted leaving without paying, when store associates stopped her near the exit door. Williams had $115.11 worth of stolen merchandise. Store Associates advised this was the third time Williams was caught stealing from their business. As results of Williams’ criminal history, her charge was enhanced to a State Jail Felony-Theft of Property <$2,500 two/more previous convictions. Williams was booked into the Paris Jail.
Fri. Dec. 13 through Sun. Dec. 15, 2024: The Paris Police Department responded to 157 Calls for Service, made 12 Adult Arrest, and Initiated 39 Traffic Stops.
