The Paris Optimist Foundation is offering scholarships to local high school seniors who previously played with the Paris Optimist Club in their respective youth playing days from ages 5 to 14 years at Woodall Fields. The scholarship is purely an academic award, and the deadline to apply was extended from Feb. 15 to March 31 of this year.
The foundation said any applicant’s athletic abilities will not be considered when winners are selected. There are various academic parameters surrounding the applicants’ selection such as standardized test scores, grade point average, class ranking, and a letter along with signatures from respective legal guardians and school officials.
Applicants must send completed applications postmarked on or before March 31 to Paris Optimist Baseball Scholarship P.O. Box 1011 Paris, Texas 75461-1011. Scholarship winners will be announced May 1, 2021.
