Campbell’s Soup on Wednesday announced it’s plans to close soup production at the Paris plant, affecting approximately 300 of the nearly 680 roles at the plant, and transform it into Campbell’s flagship sauce facility.
“After completing a thorough analysis, the company is moving forward with plans to invest in the Paris plant to transform it into Campbell’s flagship sauce facility focused on producing Prego Italian Sauces and Pace salsa. Soup production will be transferred to other sites in Campbell’s network. As a reminder, the review covered a number of options, including the potential closure of the site,” said the company in a press release.
The company said the transformation will take approximately two years and is expected to impact approximately 300 of the nearly 680 roles at the plant over that period.
Campbell’s said the company working with union leadership to schedule contract negotiation sessions on a successor collective bargaining agreement that best positions the Paris plant for a strong future as Campbell’s flagship sauce facility.
