Cooper Independent School District recently announced its new hires, which include new staff members at the elementary school, junior high, and high school campuses.
Cooper Junior High School is adding a new assistant principal and new health science teacher to its staff, while the junior high hired new sixth and seventh-grade math teachers. The elementary school also brought a new first-grade teacher onto the staff.
The school district’s new assistant junior high school principal is Michael Lewis.
Lewis began his career in education as a teacher and coach in Garland ISD for 10 years. He has spent the last two years as an assistant principal at Sherman High School. Lewis’ 12 years in education have equipped him with the ability to cultivate and implement methods that support the development of a community of lifelong learners and student success.
Lewis has been married to his wife, Ashley, for nine years and they have a two-year-old daughter, Whitten. He enjoys playing golf, watching sports, and spending time with his family outside of school.
Jackie Blassingame also joins the Bulldog staff as a health science teacher. She was previously a school nurse for Roxton ISD and became a health science teacher for Paris ISD once Roxton consolidated with Chisum ISD.
Jacie Reger and Neely Kelly were hired to teach sixth and seventh-grade math, respectively, at the junior high, while Chelsea Williams was employed by the elementary school as a first-grade teacher.
