A proposed Oklahoma law would give teachers the right to carry while on school campuses – given individual district OK.
First introduced on Jan. 21, HB 2588 recently passed the House and has also been read in the Senate.
If passed, the law would hand over the decision-making to each school district on whether to allow teachers to carry or not. If the district implements the school campus carry for teachers, they would then need to meet training guidelines before carrying.
Given the bill fails this session, it will be two more years before it can be reintroduced.
