After 25-years in education, including 19-years at North Lamar ISD, Mrs. Toni Preston announced her retirement.
“She spent her career shaping young minds, starting in 1st grade classrooms in Detroit and Paris ISDs, and finishing strong in 5th grade at North Lamar, where she taught science, reading, language arts, and social studies,” said NLISD.
One of her favorite memories include Sky Ranch, a tradition full of laughter, learning, skits, campfires, and bonding with students.
Mrs. Preston said she’ll miss “the kids and my coworkers who’ve become like family,” but is looking forward to freedom and time to take care of herself and her family.
To her students and colleagues, she said, “I love you all. My heart is so full of all of these special times and memories. Thank you all.”
“Let’s celebrate Mrs. Preston and all the love, laughter, and learning she’s given to generations of Panthers.”
North Lamar Intermediate will host a come-and-go retirement reception honoring Mrs. Preston and other retirees on May 12 from 1-3 PM at North Lamar Intermediate.
