An investigation is underway after the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) was notified of a plane crash that occurred on Monday morning.
“The crash occurred Sept. 7 at 11 a.m., however, DPS wasn’t notified until Tuesday morning,” said Patrol Sgt. Mark Tackett.
According to reports, the plane, a 1979 Piper aircraft, took off from Jones Field and for an unknown reason crashed half a mile east of the airstrip.
Tackett said the pilot, Christopher Davis nor the passenger Steven Hale reported the crash.
“The crash was reported by a witness and as far as we are aware there were no injuries,” added Tackett.
The incident is under investigation.
