North Lamar High School senior Anthony Hudson has officially signed to continue his academic and athletic career at East Texas Baptist University, where he will compete in track and field while majoring in business.
Hudson, surrounded by family, friends, and mentors, celebrated the milestone alongside his parents, Dee and Chris Hudson; sister, Danielle Hudson; and grandparents Nancy Hudson, Mark Hudson, Debbie Inman, Craig Inman, and Jeanne Smith. Also in attendance to support Hudson were Lara and Colt Fendley, as well as Coach Justin Stout.
During his time at North Lamar, Hudson developed both as an athlete and an individual, crediting the district with helping shape who he is today. “North Lamar has shaped me to be the person I am today and has given me ups and downs, ultimately benefiting me,” Hudson shared.
A standout moment in his high school career came when he and his teammates won the Area Championship and set a school record in the 4×4 relay at the regional meet held in Commerce—an achievement that remains one of his most memorable experiences as a Panther.
Hudson points to his faith as the driving force behind his success. “My biggest influence throughout my life has always been God. My faith within Him grows daily as He pushes me through my hardest times,” he said.
As he looks ahead to the next level, Hudson offers simple but powerful advice to younger athletes: “Always bet on yourself no matter what other people think or say about you.”
He also expressed gratitude to those who helped him along the way, especially Coach Justin Stout. “Thank you, Coach Stout, for being my biggest role model and pushing me through my limits,” Hudson said. He added appreciation for the friends who came out to support him on signing day.
North Lamar ISD is proud of Hudson’s accomplishments and looks forward to watching him continue to succeed at the collegiate level.
