Paris Junior College (PJC) is pleased to announce that its Talent Search and Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC) programs have been renewed for an additional five years, allowing the College to continue providing critical educational access and support services to students and prospective students throughout the region.
The federally funded programs are designed to help individuals overcome barriers to higher education and achieve their educational goals. Through individualized guidance, academic support, college and career exploration, financial aid assistance, and other resources, Talent Search and EOC help participants understand their options and navigate the path to postsecondary education.
Talent Search works with eligible middle and high school students to encourage them to complete high school and pursue education beyond graduation. The program provides students and families with resources and guidance related to college admissions, financial aid, career exploration, academic preparation and other aspects of the college-going process.
The Educational Opportunity Centers program serves adults and prospective college students by providing assistance with college admissions, financial aid applications, career planning and other resources designed to help individuals begin or continue their postsecondary education.
“We are proud to continue this important work for another five years,” said Dr. Stephen Benson, President of Paris Junior College. “Talent Search and Educational Opportunity Centers reflect our commitment to making higher education accessible to the students and families we serve. These programs meet people where they are, help remove barriers and provide the guidance and encouragement necessary to turn educational goals into opportunities for a brighter future.”
The renewal strengthens PJC’s ability to build pathways to higher education across the communities it serves and complements the College’s broader commitment to student success, workforce development and educational opportunity.
“Programs like Talent Search and Educational Opportunity Centers make a meaningful difference because they provide more than information—they provide relationships, guidance and support,” Benson added. “We look forward to continuing to help students and adults in our region see what is possible and take the next step toward achieving their goals.”
