The North Lamar CTE Department hosted its annual Advisory Committee Luncheon on Feb. 15 at North Lamar High School.
Representatives from the community, along with select teachers, staff, and parents were invited to hear about the program, and more importantly, exchange information as to what skills they see as a necessity for students to be successful in the work world.
“Our mission is to assist students in making informed career choices and to develop employability traits and marketable skills to help students make the transition into the workforce or higher education,” said the school online.
Lunch was provided and served by Chef Reed’s advanced culinary arts class and table centerpieces were made by Mrs. Dizmond’s floral design students.
Prior to Mr. Brown, CTE Director, speaking, student and newly elected Area FFA President, Quentis King, spoke to the audience about his CTE and FFA experience regarding the positive impact it has made on him.
