A. M. Aikin Elementary and T. G. Givens recently launched their Men In Action initiative, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive from both the students and the generous men who are volunteering their time. This exciting program brings together men from our community who are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our students.
The volunteers are taking valuable time out of their day to come to Aikin and Givens, where they engage with students in various settings. Whether it’s greeting students in the morning, participating in physical education classes, or being a friendly face in the halls, these men are making their presence felt throughout the school day.
One of the key benefits of the Men In Action program is that it provides our students with positive, trusted adult role models. These interactions are invaluable as they help to foster a supportive and nurturing environment for our students, encouraging them to thrive academically and personally.
“We are thrilled to host our Men In Action and are looking forward to seeing them on our campus,” stated Aikin Principal Katie McKinney. “The men of the organization are equally enthusiastic about continuing their involvement and building even stronger connections with our students. The Men In Action program is off to a fantastic start, and we anticipate even greater benefits as it continues to grow.”
