Paris Fire Department presenting Monica and husband Chad Helm with a check in the amount of $2,700 at her place of employment, Paris – Lamar County Health District on Dec. 5, 2022.
Through Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Paris Fire Department sold breast cancer T-shirts and Monica was nominated to receive the funds raised through their annual fundraiser.
Monica was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma breast cancer on May 27, 2022. In June, she had a double mastectomy and completed her final Chemo treatment early this month.
The money raised will help her family pay medical bills.
