Linda Sue Park Reid peacefully passed away on November 10, 2024, in Dripping Springs, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 5, 1949 in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma to Robert and Elsie Park, she often shared how she left Oklahoma as quickly as she could, proudly embracing her identity as a Texan. Her father’s Army career led the family to the Panama Canal Zone, where she created countless cherished memories with her beloved brother, Teddy Park. One of her fondest recollections from that time was a joyful visit from her dear sister, Karla Reaves.
Affectionately known as Lin by family and friends, she met and married Daniel Reid, while attending Sul Ross University in Alpine, Texas. They settled in Paris, Texas, where Lin felt her life truly began with the arrival of their daughter, Brooke Janette Robbins. Her greatest treasures were her daughter and her granddaughters, Emerson Lin Robbins and Annagrace Lou Robbins, who filled her life with immeasurable joy and love.
Lin embarked on a rewarding 40-year banking career beginning with 10 years at Liberty National Bank, where she developed a lasting friendship with Jan Weiberg—an exceptional connection that many hope to discover in their own
lives. Subsequently, she spent 30 years at Lamar National Bank, working alongside Michael “Sparky” Rhodes. Her bond with Sparky was one she treasured and kept near and dear to her heart.
Throughout her life, Lin faced every challenge with grace and courage. When asked how her day was, she always replied, “I woke up today, so it is a good day!”
Lin will be profoundly missed by her beloved daughter Brooke, her cherished son-in-law Richard Robbins, and her adored granddaughters Emerson and Annagrace Robbins. She is lovingly survived by her brother Ted Park and his wife Cindy, as well as her sister Karla Reaves and her husband Les, all of whom provided unwavering support and strength throughout her life. Lin had a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews, Matthew Park, Karen Kerr, and Jim Reaves, as well as honorary nephew John Lyles. No one will miss her more than her devoted mother, Elsie, who was not only a loving mother but also a true friend and caretaker throughout Lin’s life, especially in Lin’s final moments. Their bond was a beautiful testament to the power of love.
We find comfort in knowing that Lin’s body and mind are now whole and healthy in the loving embrace of her dad, Sergeant Major John Robert Park, her hero.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, honoring her legacy of kindness and compassion.
