Keep Paris Beautiful/Make Lamar County Shine is hosting its Eighth Annual Tree Giveaway in conjunction with its E-Cycle on Saturday, Feb. 26, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. noon.
During the tree giveaway at 9 a.m., KPB/MLCS will distribute small trees to Lamar County residents. The trees, provided by the Texas Forest Service, will be given away for free. In 2021, the 1,000 little trees found new homes quickly.
“Everyone is invited to come and get a tree, which will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until all the trees are distributed.”
The E-Cycle at 8 a.m., hosted by KPB/MLCS, gives people the opportunity to recycle electronic devices such as old cellphones, televisions, computers, laptops, monitors, tablets, e-readers and portable DVD players in an eco-friendly way. In 2021, the organization gathers thousands of pounds of recycled electronics.
The tree giveaway and electronic recycling on Feb. 26 will take place in Lamar County Courthouse’s parking lot, 119 N. Main St.
