Jerry Tyler 78, of Blossom, died at 12:15 AM, Sunday, March 10, 2019, at his home. Funeral services are set for 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 14, 2019, in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Cook and Rev. Bob Seale officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Jerry was born September 30, 1940, in Honey Grove to T.B. and Bertha Louise Baty Tyler. He graduated from Honey Grove High School and worked for several years for Dr. N.L. Barker, Dr. C.D. Barker, and Dr. Courtney Townsend at the Clarksville Street Clinic as the x-ray and lab tech. Later he was employed at Southwest Foundry and Turner Pipe in the safety and environmental area. He married Mary Cobb on May 14, 1994 in Paris. Mr. Tyler was a member of Oak Park United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Tyler of Blossom; three children, David Tyler of Paris, Diann Tyler Hulsey and husband, Larry of Hugo, and Kenneth Dale Tyler and wife, Tonya of Blossom; five grandchildren, Emily Moore, Ryan Tyler, Heather Sanderson, Megan Howard, and Bethany Howard; fourteen great-grandchildren, Addison, Kylie, Camrey, Saphire, Liam, Bryleigh, Kai’Dence, Zari, Za’Miya, Ma’Kiya, Ava, Cloie, Lily and Leland; two brothers, Larry Tyler of Blossom and Delbert Tyler of Commerce; and his sister, Linda Loftin of Bonham. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Ruth Ellen Finley Tyler; his parents and one granddaughter, Rachel Hulsey.
