George William Bryant, age 94, of Reno, Texas passed away June 19th at 5:30 p.m. at Brentwood Terrace Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth, and his three children; daughters, Linda Bryant of Palmer, Texas and Anita Lee & husband Sam of Decatur, Texas, and son, Greg Bryant of Paris, Texas. He was preceded in death by a son, Wendell Bryant and a grandson, Eric Espinoza.

He is also survived by grandchildren; Richard Harrison, Michelle Jones, Corey Harris, Shelly Bryant and Zachary Espinoza, great-grandchildren; Stormy Tyson, Justin Harrison, Zayden Espinoza, Kyleigh Harris, Kaden Harris, Grace Harris, Kason Johnson, and Jaxon Bryant, three great-great-grandchildren; Stayden Harrison, Hayden Tyson and Henley Jo Tyson along with numerous nieces & nephews and a host of friends.

Two brothers and five sisters preceded George in death. Brothers; Melvin Bryant and Mack Bryant and sisters; Pearl Jordon, Vetrual Jones, Ruby Coddington, Grace Moore and Beatrice Fox.

The son of A. W. & Ruthie Ann Bryant, he was born in Noble, Texas on June 9, 1924. He attended schools at Noble, Hopewell, and Ashland. George married Ruth Draper on June 8, 1945, in Paris, Texas. They lived in West Texas near Colorado City for 49 years before retiring to Reno, Texas in 1994.

George was a farmer, worked as an ice delivery man, a laundry delivery man and worked at Col-Tex and Cosden Refineries for 31 years retiring in 1982. He then drove a school bus for 12 years and also worked at an auto parts store for the same 12 years.

He served on the Board of Directors for the Col-Tex Refinery Credit Union for 10 years and was Treasurer of Central Baptist Church for 16 years. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Paris, Texas at the time of his passing.

George was happiest when he was on his Ford tractor plowing his west Texas fields, planting his cotton and growing his fruit and vegetables for

his family. He also loved tinkering with and repairing anything that was broken and needed repairing including his tractor, cars or any small gadgets. His favorite sport was football and he attended many home high school games to support his local team, The Colorado City Wolves.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23rd at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Blake officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
