Leon Thomas “Tommy” Parker Jr., 85, of Reno, passed away Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, at his home.
Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4 th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Dr. Danny Moody officiating. Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5 – 7 p.m.
Tommy, the son of Leon T. Parker Sr. and Susie Hopper Parker, was born Nov. 2, 1940, in Blossom, TX. He graduated from Paris High School. At the age of 18, he began working at Lamar County Electric. Then he joined the United States Navy where he served until being honorably discharged. Lamar County Electric held his position while he served our country, and he returned to work, where he retired following many years of service to the company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbara Mixon Parker, two sons, Wesley Parker and Kris Parker, and all his siblings, Jimmy Parker, Diane Shiver, Patricia Lawler, and Sandra Lancaster.
Survivors include two daughters, Belinda “Bunny” Talton and Johnnie Freeman, grandchildren, Cassandra Parker, Tiffany Young and husband Brandon, Whitney Hurd, Mallory Hogg and husband Damon, Emmy Vaji and husband Matt, Parker Freeman, Madison Parker, Reese Parker, and Chloe Parker, six great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Brandon Young, Damon Hogg, Angel Olivarez, Kevin Lancaster, Toby Kautz, and Melvin Mixon.
