River Jones was a beloved husband, precious son, caring brother, faithful friend, and devoted Christian whose kindness, loyalty, and adventurous spirit touched everyone who knew him.
River lived life to the fullest and found joy in creating memories with the people he loved. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and had a special passion for motocross, always embracing the thrill of two wheels. He also loved gaming with friends, watching movies and shows, hunting, traveling, and discovering new foods and places.Whether trying something new or enjoying a favorite pastime, River was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.
Known for his friendly nature, River could talk to anyone and make them feel welcome. He was the kind of person who would drop everything to help someone in need and was always there when family or friends needed him most.
River deeply loved the life he built with his wife, Kortni, and cherished their little family together. He enjoyed pickleball, golf, and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys every football season. Above all, he was a devoted family man and steadfast friend whose love for others was unconditional.
River was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Pat Jones, and Melvin and Jennie Berry.
River is survived by his loving wife, Kortni Jones; his parents, Todd and Monte Jones; his mother-in-law, Shannon Johnston; his sister, Rachel Wedgeworth, and nephew, Kaiden; his sister and brother-in-law, Jaci and Clay Shovan, and nephew, Brooks; his sister and brother-in-law, Lindsay and Brett Harp, and nieces, Emery and Everly.
While there will never be another River Jones, his legacy of love, generosity, faith, and friendship will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the GoFundMe established to assist Kortni with upcoming financial needs.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2nd at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Tiny Freelen officiating. Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 – 7 p.m.
