Lamar County Adopt-A-Cop, together with dozens of community members, honor Lamar County Jailers with gifts during National Correctional Officers Week, May 7-13, 2023.
“Our mission is to recognize and show our appreciation for our local correctional officers who exemplify professionalism, integrity, and strength in the face of a difficult and often dangerous job,” said LC Adopt-A-Cop president Amanda Willows.
That mission exceeded all expectations with adoptions of jailers providing each of them with new gear bags, handcuffs, handcuff keys, and gift certificates to Texas 2A.
“We want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who adopted these heroes,” said Willows. “Special thanks going out to Texas2A, American Towing & Recovery and Load Trail for teaming up with us to show appreciation for these special first responders with special gifts! Also, thank you Ann Adams of Sweet Mimi’s Cakes and Treats for the amazing cake and Cherry Harper for helping deliver the gifts.”
