Graduations are taking on a new look this year as some colleges and high schools are opting for varied outdoor ceremonies; some are going virtual. One thing stays the same across the board, and that is, seniors will be celebrated for their scholastic achievements.
Paris Junior College graduates will be recognized in a virtual commencement ceremony on May 22, 2020. All details of the graduation can be obtained on their website www.parisjc.edu/graduation.
Paris ISD will host its graduation ceremony for Paris High School class of 2020 on Friday, June 12, at 8:00 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium. The school will follow all social distancing guidelines set by the state and TEA recommendations. More information on changes for the event will be sent out from Paris High School Principal Mr. Vaughan to graduates.
North Lamar ISD is creating “Seniors Shine Bright with Friday Night Lights.”
On May 22, North Lamar’s football, baseball, and softball stadiums will turn their lights on at 8:20 p.m. The lights will run for 20 minutes to honor the NLHS Senior Class of 2020. The time represents 20:20 in military time. The district is asking the community to show their support by turning on their porch lights at this same time.
More information on their graduation ceremonies will be available in due time as they work to finalize their plans.
Chisum ISD will host their high school graduation on Saturday, June 13, at 10:00 a.m. at the Mustang football stadium. All social distancing guidelines and TEA recommendations will be followed. If there is a rainout, the time will change to 8:00 p.m. on the same day, Saturday, June 13.
Prairiland ISD announced that their graduating Class of 2020 would have their graduation ceremony on Saturday, June 13, at 10:00 a.m. at the High School Football Stadium. Attendance will be limited, with details of the proceedings being sent out to students later.
Detroit ISD announced they would have a graduation ceremony this year. Mr. Lloyd will be sending a formal letter to the senior class members and their Families with more information soon. The school will also continue to post updates on their Facebook page.
